Firework Cash for Havens
A kind donation of £5000 to Havens Hospices will mean
the charity can buy extra vital equipment for the patients and
children it looks after. The Southend Round Table 106 handed over the
cheque which will be used to purchase five
syringe drivers. These are a small battery powered device that is able
to administer medication at a designated amount
per hour.
"The money was raised at the Round Table's firework display in
November at Shoebury East beach called The
Big Beach Bang. Richard Metcalf was last year's Community Service
Chairman. He says, 'Around 9000
people attended the event, and we stressed that any money raised goes back
into local charities such as
Havens Hospices. We are delighted to hand over this money which we know
will make such a difference to
the patients and children"
