Felsted Cricket - Sunday 16th July 2006 |
The Final
Chelmsford Tindal v Billericay
The Final Match Report
On a glorious
summers day Felsted saw a keenly contested final between
Billericay and Chelmsford Tindal. Billericay won the toss and
put Tindal into bat. David Campbell quickly fell to Billericay
fast bowler Paul Donley, next up was Kevin Mesnard who retied at
the end of the 5th over after racking up a good scored to let
new boy Adrian Maidman onto the wicket. After the 6 overs Tindal
had recorded a reasonable score for Billericay to Chase but in
the end Billericay won by 1 run
with
1 spare ball. If Tindal's slogger Mesnard hadn't retired
with an over to go it would have been a totally different result
and Tindal wouldn't be organising the event for a second time in
3 years.
Hornchurch had to leave early so it was agreed that the points
be split between the two tables.
Points:
5 points are awarded for each attending table, 1st - 25, 2nd -
20, 3rd - 16
Congratulations to everybody that
took part in a fantastic day of sport, wine and barbeques.
Thanks go to Chelmsford 41 Club member Colin Warren for
providing his PA for the day and Chelmsford 132 for organising
the event.
Attendees: Rom Valley (Not bad as they only
have 3 members), Southend, Leigh, Hornchurch, Chelmsford 132 A &
