NSW 2006
September

Essex Area 33 managed a very respectable 4th place! Congratulations to the overall Winners Area 22

I am sure, like me, you would like to join all those present at the awards ceremony in commiserating with Area  14 who sadly didn’t win for the 4th year in a row …..Shame !!

I am however happy to announce Area 33 did manage to win 2 events.

Congratulations and well done to :-

bullet Ernie Lawrence, Joe Laker and Sam Lawrence from Leigh on Sea  909 on their victory in the swimming
bullet Hitesh Magudia from Rom Valley 345 and Adrian Maidman Chelmsford Tindal 826 on their victory in the Table Tennis.

A Very Well Done Boys !!

A sterling effort was made by all of those Area 33 members present, congratulations to all on upholding our reputation for hard work and sportsmanship.  Special mention does however go to:-

bulletThe Novelty team lead by our illustrious chairman  Brad the Builder with Chris Vincent and Malcolm Wade who’s task it was to build a machine capable of throwing an Egg as far as possible. Unfortunately their design was stolen, and used against us.
bulletThe Tug of War team, bullied by Steve Woolnough, who were defeated by the toss of a coin as the event was held on a hill. However they did manage to be the first of only 2 teams to pull against the laws of gravity.
bulletAndy Banister for a very hard fought 2nd place in the Squash
bulletBen Mathews for a 4th place in the cross country and  2nd  in the 400 metres
bulletGreg Meadwell for a 1st place in the 100 metres and organising the food on Friday.

We will be sending a deputation to Edinburgh in order to petition for 2 new events to be added to next years itinerary,  Late Night Corridor Golf,  won this year by Jon Sage and Late Night Gnome Throwing won this year by Steve Woolnough . (This latter however is under dispute as for some reason the Gnome spontaneously combusted half way through the event).

Finally Warwick University will be closed for the next 6 months for repairs and the county of Warwickshire is now officially off limits to all area 33 Tablers. I understand arrest warrants have been issued.
